This morning I stumbled across a debate on CSPAN2 on a tobacco regulation. Senator Burr of North Carolina was speaking on behalf of a substitute bill he has introduced. I came in on the end, but it seemed to have to do with items containing nicotine as an alternative to cigarettes. I've emailed him asking if e-cigs are included and gave him a brief summary of what they have done for me. I haven't heard from his office yet.
Senatuor Burr serves on the Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions committee, which is responsible for bringing a bill to the floor. I suggest all of you check to see if one of your senators serves on this committee and email him. Even if you don't have a senator on that committee, I suggest you email Senator Burr.
I am also going to check the House subcommittee on Health of the Committee on Energy and Commerce. You can find out if your senators and reps serve on these committees by checking
http://thomas.loc.gov/.
Congress is where the power lies. They hold the purse strings and the FDA is answerable to these folks.
