Cartomizers

Where do I get good cartomizers? What different models are there? Who sells them? Can you get passthroughs for them? Jane sent me some to try along with a battery. (Ain't she great?!) I really like it because of the taste (taste comes through better for me) and feel (very smooth taste, easy draw). Also I can use it for a pretty long time without refilling. I can't find them on her website. I've found a lot of info on "the big forum", but it's all so confusing. Any of you guys know about these?

I'm trying to learn about them because my husband wants to switch to them. He's usuing a Joye 510 and he HATES the attys, says they're junk and he just wants to throw them away. (I think his big problem is he's so busy during the day at work that he doesn't have time to do all the nonstop matienence a regular atty needs....) Big argument there lol, especially when I take his e-cig and blow a big cloud of vapor out.. makes hiim fume!
I don't quite understand the whole thing though, and am still looking into them. Wish I could help you out better

I have never used the atty's and have always used cartomizers, there are 2 different types of cartomizers, not sure what battery the one uses, I thought it was the 910 ? and the other fit's the KR808D's, I only use the KR808D's but understand you can get adaptors for both size cartomizers to fit either battery. I buy most of mine from Vapor4Life (V4L), but have seen that other venders are starting to carry them too. I really don't know anything about the 910 batts. I know greencig cartomizers fit the KR808's but have'nt tried them, I mostly buy blanks and fill them myself with juices I like, gotten to many prefilled that I could not stand the juice. Just go to your search on your home page and type in KR808D cartomizers and the venders should come up along with the other ones.

Hi Coopubin! I've been using e-cigs since June 2008. Mostly I've stuck with the penstyle. I've tried the 901s and the 510s. The 510s hold more liquid than the 901s, but not as much as a penstyle. So that means you don't have to refill as much when using a penstyle.
I'm still trying to get used to the cartomizer and they do last longer than the penstyle. Plus, you can refill them. I don't think they are designed to be used over and over, so I don't really know how long they will last. But if money isn't an issue, you can just throw the cartomizer away when it's empty. They still would be cheaper than regular cigs.
I wish someone would just sell some that would work with my penstyle, 510 or 901 stuff that I already have. But I'm guessing they have different ways of working with a battery. I am very electronically challenged, so I don't understand why the cartomizer I have fits a 901 battery, but it doesn't really work right with it. I tried it and it has a really hard draw and also the cartomizer gets really hot. I'm lucky I didn't ruin it.
In the meantime, tell your husband to have some full cartridges for his 510 in his pocket. If you buy them pre-filled, they come with a little rubber cap that should be saved. That way you can refill them, stick the cap on, and throw them in your pocket or whatever kind of container you use to carry them around. Or you can just carry around several fully filled and fully charged e-cigs. Dripping, refilling, topping off can be kind of a pain, especially when you're driving or walking around.
Battery life is a problem no matter what kind you use, so if you're husband uses his 510 with a regular battery, that may be another reason he doesn't like them, because the batteries lose their charge. I mostly use my penstyle on a passthrough, so I don't need to worry so much about batteries. If I go out, I just throw a couple extra already charged-up ones in my purse.
These things can be rather fiddly, but they're worth it. Cigarettes are a definite turn-off for me now. But I don't want to give up my e-cigs!
Sleepy Jean: Thanks for your feedback. I did read a lot on V4L, but had never done business with them. I think they've been around for a while and should be a reputable company to deal with. I'll have to ask how the adapters work. If they just make it so the parts fit together, I don't think that's enough (because of my 901 experiment). About how many times do you think you can re-use a cartomizer? Have you ever tried cleaning them with any good results?

Jane has them on the site under accessories- I think they're called cardomizers. They're $8.49 a box.
They are a combination atomizer and cart in one and meant for temporary use. They seem to last 3-4 days as long as you keep refilling them. Try not to run them dry as the filling is wrapped around the atomizer and will scorch = it won't taste too good. I've had some last only a couple days and some for well over 4 days - I stop using them if they smell burnt or taste crappy. Some will just die out after use.
The reason the cartomizers don't work on a 901 is they need airflow so you need to buy an adaptor for it to work right - they are pretty inexpensive and small. I don't know if I'm supposed to mention other vendors so I won't right now.
There are cartomizers made for 510 batteries as well - you won't need an adaptor for them.
And there are kr808 batteries made to work with the cartomizers - the extralong ones have hours of use.

One other thing - you can wash out the cartomizers to keep them tasting good or change flavors. I run warm water through them and let them dry - sometime gently blow threw them to get out any drops of water so they'll dry faster.
You can refill them by using the little plastic cap they come with -filling it 1/4 to1/3 up with juice - then put the cartomizer in in either side. You can guage pretty much so much juice to put in it - the juice will seep out the other end when its full. Let it sit for a while to absorb the juice some people advise 24 hours but I've used ones much sooner than this.
The one thing to be careful with is its overfilled you might get juice in your mouth. I usually just gently blow through the mouthpiece before I use it to make sure this doesn't happen.

Janet, The Cartomizers will fit on a 901 batt but the air flow is different, that is why you get nothing from it.....You will need adapters to go from whatever batt you use to a KR808D-1 or Cartomizer, which ever way it is listed....no need to buy new batts just to try them, get the adapters...if you need to know where just pm me.

I just got a HUGE battery that fits BOTH the cardomizers and 901. Jamet, the Cardomizer I sent you was a "Toasted Toffee" type from another company. They're not on the website yet. But they make a penstyle look like a "toy".

Janet, I have been cleaning cartoizers I bought back in Oct 2009 and refilling them, I'm pretty carefull not to let them dry out, but of course sometime's I let one slip and have to trash it, I clean them by first running warm water through them and then let them soak in distilled water for awhile, then rinse again and blow them out and let them dry, some people use them right away. As mentioned before you do have to watch out not to over fill them, if you do overfill, you can take a pipette or an eye droper to pull the excess liguid out and put it back in the bottle or in another carto, also you can refill them about 3 or 4 times before cleaning them out if you useing the same flavor in them. there are alot of video's about cleaning and refilling cartomizers on the internet and on the big forum. Also check out review's on, carto's and juice, that helped me alot.

Jane - I want this (and of course I want it now). Will you be carrying passthroughs for them too? Any idea when we'll be able to order? BTW, you called me "Jamet" - LOL! (It's Janet, dammit! (RHPS)
Is it because you need eye surgery? Seriously, I really do hope all goes well for you during and after your eye surgery.

Oh Jane - Thank you! I certainly don't expect you to send me your own. I am so excited about this cartomizer. I did come across this long battery on another site and when I found they also had passthroughs, it was decided -
this will be my main e-cig now
. I am so glad you will be carrying these because I'd rather order from you than anyone else.
You guys,
Jane is the best.
Her site is
http://www.ecsiinc.com
- She's really smart (look at all those rhyming riddles she wrote) and knows her stuff. She ships right away. Her prices are good. She has free shipping (and you don't have to order $100-worth of stuff either). She does research and makes sure her products are quality. She tests them before sending them to you. She has integrity, which seems to be a rare quality these days. She's always treated me with the utmost respect.
